Why Shoud I Spray For Mosquitoes?

There are really only two reasons to control mosquitoes:

1. To avoid the nuisance of mosquitoes. No one wants to have mosquitoes buzzing around their heads nor do we enjoy being bit. The success of a party is on whether you can stay outside or has everyone been driven into the house. Have you ever been woken up to buzzing near your ear and chased one pesky invader around the bedroom in the middle of the night, then you know the value of effective mosquito control.

2. To avoid the spread of  mosquito-borne disease. Everyone recognizes that mosquitoes can be a terrible blood feeding nuisance, but most people do not realize the magnitude of the health threat that they represent in New Jersey. According to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, NJDEP, "New Jersey has more than 60 different kinds of mosquitoes, 20 of which can carry diseases"... " surveillance programs documented above average mosquito populations and record-setting levels of West Nile virus in mosquitoes"

A growing concern for pet owners is dog heartworm. Dog heartworm occurs when a parasite transmitted by a mosquito becomes lodged, and grows, in the heart of the infected pet. Heartworm can affect cats and other pets, as well as dogs, and if left untreated, severe physical damage and death may occur. Beyond viral and parasitic diseases, other health problems caused by mosquitoes include severe allergic reactions and infections.

Omega Pest Management has spent a considerable amount of time researching the effectiveness of different treatment methods because we know it is not enough to just control the mosquito, we need to be good stewards of the environment as well. This is why Omega Pest Management utilizes a material made from essential oils. This material will not harm important insects which are essential to the pollination within our natural ecosystem.
